Welcome to the latest installment of...In The Zone! We will be talking with Texas GM Leroi Longdong in this issue.
Leroi was hired about midway through the season. He joined a team that had been struggling to find it's groove and sat 11 games back of the division leader.
Now with 2 weeks remaining he finds his team 4 games back in the Wildcard race. The Ranger's are led by perenial offensive force Hank Blalock and a strong Rotation that has only one Starter with an ERA over 3.70!!
Can the Rangers take advantage of their remaining schedule and secure a playoff spot?
Let's see what Leroi has to say...
kcKyote: Today I am joined by Rangers GM Leroi Longdong. Interesting name, how is everything in the Lone Star state this evening? leroi3vicious: This evening? Not bad...lately, not good kcKyote: The juicy stuff first! It is rumored that Jenna Jamison gave you your name. Is there any truth to that? leroi3vicious: She didn't give me the name, I have banged her though, if that's what you are asking? kcKyote: ahh the lucky few...or is it many...LOL leroi3vicious: In french LeRoi means........ "The King" Longdong leroi3vicious: I was an upcoming porn star until I became GM of the Rangers. It still gets crazy in Texas, I keep in touch with Hugh, the off season is coming! kcKyote: time for some R & R...or is it T & A? kcKyote: Ok, on to the team
kcKyote: You did a good job replacing the previous GM, in fact you were making a strong run at the division crown. What went wrong? leroi3vicious: Our bullpen has been very disappointing and our rotation hasn't been as consistent as we would like kcKyote: You do have a nice staff set up, only one guy with an ERA over 3.70. I'm sure your expecting big things next season? leroi3vicious: We aren't officially out of this year's wild card, we are expecting a big two weeks coming up, that will bring us the wild card berth. kcKyote: It is very possible being only 4 games back. Especially since you play KC 6 of your last 12. leroi3vicious: The remaining games are against central division teams also fighting for that wild card, it should be interesting kcKyote: Any new strategy that you are planning on using in an attempt to shake the team up? leroi3vicious: Since we have a day off before heading to Chicago, we our all having a party at my good buddy Hugh Hefner's pad, he invited our team down there, to you know? kcKyote: Good idea, I'm sure the boy's could use a little stress relief! leroi3vicious: for sure kcKyote: Who has been your team MVP this season? leroi3vicious: Hank had been plagued with injuries all year, he is currently in a little funk, we are expecting the party to relax and get him focused for the remaining 12 games. kcKyote: LOL...his new nickname will be Hank the Spank =) leroi3vicious: That's already his nickname, the Spankster leroi3vicious: LOL kcKyote: He needs a good woman then... leroi3vicious: I told him why make one woman happy, when you can make them all happy ;-) kcKyote: What are your plans for the team this off-season? leroi3vicious: No major plans, I like the core guys we've got. kcKyote: You definitely seem set up to be one of the strong teams next season. leroi3vicious: My intentions when I was given the position was to make a run this year and to build a strong team for the near future, I believe I have done that kcKyote: I would agree... kcKyote: As the regular season comes to a close how do you feel about your time in the NGBL? leroi3vicious: It's been great, a lot of GM's have come and gone. For the most part, we do have a solid group of owners. kcKyote: What is your biggest concern with the league? leroi3vicious: Not making the playoffs, I worry about my team. kcKyote: Don't we all... leroi3vicious: I think other teams have bigger concerns than mine kcKyote: Yeah like Atlanta losing a ton of players this past couple sims... leroi3vicious: Ouch, losing Scott is huge. Don't under estimate the heart of a wounded animal. The Mets better watch out leroi3vicious: The Pirates are also making a run kcKyote: In a perfect world the Mets would be bounced in the 1st Rd...oh the fun we could have then! leroi3vicious: It could happen. Dunn has been known as a choker kcKyote: I hear he has a chicken farm too...hmmm leroi3vicious: LOL kcKyote: Anything you'd like to say to all of your admirers out there in the NGBL? leroi3vicious: admirers? I have admirers? leroi3vicious: Patience kcKyote: it's a virtue so I'm told.... leroi3vicious: Good things come to those that wait leroi3vicious: also, I heard Dan Dias was banging George Michael? kcKyote: I heard that too...Did you know that he is also a transvestite? kcKyote: Goes by the name Cathy I think? leroi3vicious: that sick bastard kcKyote: Ya think you know a guythen BAM! leroi3vicious: YIKES!!! kcKyote: Everyone beware of a stranger named Cathy, it could be a hot young woman, or it could be a Fadilles!!! leroi3vicious: I'll keep a look out. kcKyote: Hot tip, he reportedly likes hairy menquick guys grab a razor!! leroi3vicious: That guy, or should I say girl? kcKyote: LOL kcKyote: Thanks for taking the time tonight...maybe we will soon hear the famous chant coming from your dugout! leroi3vicious: the Crowd leroi3vicious: ah WOO WOO HOOO OOOOOOO kcKyote: woo woo hoo meets hoo hoo woo? The Shadow knows...muhhaahhahaha
